Learning outcomes

The aims of the course are: - introduction to genearal toxicology, mechanisms of action of toxic agents and different classes of drugs - to study the basic mechanism chracterising toxic effect - toxic effects of drugs and other chemicals against principals target body organs At the end students shoul be able to know molecular mechanims of toxic effects, organ toxicity induced by chemicals and/or drugs, toxicity tests.

Mechanisms of toxicity
Individual susceptibility to toxic chemicals
Organ toxicity: nervous system, hepatic and renal toxicity, pulmonary and cardiac toxicity, toxicity of immune system, skin toxicity

Applied pharmacology: drug toxicity and drug interactions

Assessment methods and criteria

Written examination with 4 open questions on topics of the program.
Each response must have a maximum score of 7.5; the final vote will be given by the sum of the votes of the questions
