Learning outcomes
To provide students with knowledge and skills typical of information engineering to allow them to identify, formulate, analyze, and solve problems related to the design, integration, and management of industrial production plants. The course aims to train graduates with advanced skills in strategic and innovative sectors, such as industrial robotics, cyber-physical systems, data analytics, digital manufacturing. The application domain includes the use of information technology in the industrial environment to automate production processes.

Students will be trained for specific target professional profiles:

Industrial IoT and Robotic Systems Designer: this profile is related to engineers with specific skills in modeling, specification, and verification of industrial IoT systems or Robotic systems, specification of cyber-physical components and property analysis, design of the networking infrastructure, analysis and design of system controllers, analysis and design of computing resources, design of collaborative and cooperative robotic architectures, techniques for safety and certification. Their function in a work context will be related to the design of industrial IoT and robotic systems with advanced cyber-physical features.
Industrial Systems Integrator: this profile is related to engineers with specific skills related to the definition of machine tool properties, identification of the most appropriate computing components, the definition of data sharing modes within the system architecture, integration of components and processes, optimization of processes and data flows, integration of machine tools into the enterprise information system. Their function in a work context will be related to the integration of robotic and cyber-physical systems into manufacturing and information management systems with smart capabilities
Production Programmer and Analyst (e.g., Industrial Data Engineer): this profile is related to engineers with specific skills related to the analysis of production processes, production programming of industrial systems, analysis and integration of production data, analysis of data through machine learning and visualization techniques, predictive maintenance, techniques for quality control, data security and privacy. Their function in a work context will be related to the industrial data analysis and the programming of industrial processes.
