Learning outcomes

The purpose of the course is to give the student a solid appreciation of the most common mathematical methods and implementation algorithms for the solution on a computer of scientific and engineering problems. Mathematical software tools and high-level scientific environments will be used to implement algorithms for the solution of the problems studied during the course. At the end of the course it is expected that the student has the ability to easily use software and computational tools, such as high-level scientific environments, to implement the analyzed algorithms. Given the heterogeneity of the analyzed methods, the student will learn to talk clearly and profitably with experts from other sectors, recognizing the possibility of mathematically formalizing problems in applied sciences, industry or finance.
